Million Dollar Quartet to Rock Harrah's Las Vegas for Open Run

The Tony Award-nominated musical Million Dollar Quartet has found a new home in Sin City, with a mounting of the red-hot rock ‘n’ roll show settling in for an open run at Harrah’s Las Vegas beginning February 4, 2013. Casting for the production has not yet been announced.

Million Dollar Quartet is a 90-minute jukebox musical based on a legendary recording session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The four music icons gathered at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 4, 1956, and what resulted was one of history’s most unforgettable jam sessions. The show features more than twenty famous rock hits, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” "Walk the Line," “Great Balls of Fire,” “Hound Dog,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “That’s All Right” and more.

The Broadway production of Million Dollar Quartet closed on June 12, 2011 after 489 performances. The show was nominated for three Tony Awards (including Best Musical), winning one for Levi Kreis’ performance as Jerry Lee Lewis. The show currently lives on with an open run in Chicago and a national tour through 2013.

Million Dollar Quartet features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, and is directed by Eric Schaeffer. Check out highlights from the musical below!
