The pop culture phenomenon is now live on stage!

Jillian Mueller and Katie Webber Will ‘Put It On’ in Flashdance Tour

There is a new pair of maniacs in town! Jillian Mueller will replace original star Emily Padgett in the national tour of Flashdance as the show’s heroine, Alex. Katie Webber will take on the role of Tess, replacing Rachelle Rak. The two actresses will join the cast on April 23 when the musical begins performances at Portland’s Keller Auditorium.

Mueller has been seen in the first national tours of Memphis and American Idiot. Her Broadway credits include Bye Bye Birdie and two seasons of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, in which she made her Main Stem debut. Mueller has also been seen on CBS’ A Gifted Man.

Webber’s Broadway credits include Rock of Ages, Catch Me If You Can, Memphis and Wicked. She has also appeared on NBC’s Smash and can be seen in Kristen Wiig’s upcoming film Girl Most Likely.

Mueller and Webber will join a cast that includes Matthew Hydzik as Nick, Kelly Felthous as Gloria, David R. Gordon as Jimmy, DeQuina Moore as Kiki, Jo Ann Cunningham as Hannah and Matthew Henerson as Harry.

Flashdance tells the story of Alex Owens, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh striving to make her dreams of becoming a professional dancer a reality. The musical features hits from the film’s Grammy-winning soundtrack, including “Flashdance—What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “Gloria” and 10 original songs. The show is directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis) and features a score by Robbie Roth and Robert Cary and a book by Cary and Tom Hedley.
